Ricky was intelligent, hard working and always the life of the party. He had a way of making everyone feel included and accepted no matter what walk of life they came from. Ricky had three things in life he loved most – animals, culinary arts and the color purple. He leaves behind a legacy of love, acceptance and laughter.
The Ricky Kirton Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to honor the memory of Ricky Kirton who, in August of 2020, passed away as a result of complications from a long term illness.
Each year a $500 scholarship will be awarded to each of up to three promising students interested in studying in the veterinary sciences or culinary arts. This scholarship fund intends to respect the love Ricky had for all animals and cooking, as well as defray the increasing cost of higher education.
Scholarship awards should be used to directly pay for educational expenses (tech fees, books, lab fees, courses, etc.). Scholarship recipients are expected to use their resources wisely and responsibly and uphold a high standard of conduct.
We hope they will go on to do great things for the animal kingdom and strive to make a positive impact on world hunger.
